Ronin Shotokan 2017
Dear Sensei, Competitors and Coaches and Officials:
The Ronin Shotokan Karate-Do Association invites you to the eighteenth annual Thomas LaPuppet Memorial Classic Karate-Do Championships. This innovational event will feature traditional karate-do utilizing modified World Karate Federation and USA Karate rules. USA Karate and the New York Traditional Karate League (NYTKL) have sanctioned this event. Participants can earn points towards the NYTKL athlete rankings and award recognition. You and your school can look forward to good competition in a friendly environment that will honor Sensei LaPuppet’s tournament legacy of fairness, order, and safety.
Please note that this year the Thomas LaPuppet Memorial Classic will be held at York College City University of New York-Gymnasium, 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd, Jamaica NY 11451. The tournament will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2017, and will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Men and woman 18 to 34 years old black belt divisions will began at 1:00 p.m.
Pre-registration is mandatory for this event. No applications or competition fees will be accepted on the day of the tournament. To avoid a $15.00 administrative fee, applications and competition fees must be received by Monday, June 5th. The final deadline for all applications and fees is Friday, June 9th. Enclosed are tournament applications, hotel information and directions to the tournament venue; please feel free to make additional copies as necessary.
